In My 40s: Things I Actually Recommend (That I Truly Use)

I’m in my 40s, and at this point, I’m not interested in complicated routines or products that sound good but don’t actually fit real life.

I want simple. I want easy. I want things that work.

Between busy days, kids, and just normal life, these are the things I actually reach for daily—the ones that make me feel a little more put together without adding more to my plate. shop everything here (affiliate)

My Easy Protein Go-To

I keep this as simple as possible because if it’s complicated, I won’t stick to it.

  • Protein powder
  • 8 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

That’s it. It tastes good, keeps me full, and feels like one small win in the middle of a busy day.

The Mom Outfit I Wear on Repeat

Comfort wins every time.

I’m all about those easy, throw-on outfits that still look put together without trying too hard. If I can grab it, put it on, and go—it’s staying in rotation.

My Everyday Lip Shades

I’ve found what works and I’m sticking to it.

  • Princess pink for an easy, fresh look
  • Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Kim K.W for the perfect nude

It has just the right hint of shine, goes with everything, and instantly pulls my whole look together.

Walmart Finds I Actually Wear

Not everything has to be expensive to be good.

Some of my most-worn pieces are simple Walmart finds:

  • Soft, comfy shorts
  • Easy tank tops
  • Throw-on dresses

They’re affordable, comfortable, and perfect for everyday life.

My No-Fuss Glow Routine

I don’t have time for high-maintenance beauty.

I use an organic face tanner and mix a few drops right into my moisturizer. It gives me a natural, sun-kissed glow without looking overdone.

My “Throw-On-and-Go” Dress

This is my go-to when I want to look like I tried… without actually trying.

One piece, no thinking, and I’m out the door feeling put together.

My Favorite Summer Accessory

A ponytail straw visor is one of those things I didn’t realize I needed.

It’s cute, lightweight, keeps the sun off my face, and still lets me throw my hair up—which is a must.

My Lash Shortcut

I’m not doing a full lash routine every day.

I use half lashes just on the outer corners, and it gives that subtle lift without looking too much. It’s quick, easy, and I can even wear them for a few days at a time.

The Jeans I Reach for on “Those Days”

You know the days—bloated, nothing feels right, everything is uncomfortable.

That’s when I reach for my soft, stretchy Amazon mom jeans. They’re comfortable, forgiving, and still look cute enough to leave the house in.

Real Life, Real Recommendations

At this stage in life, I’m choosing ease.

Less complicated routines.
More comfort.
Things that actually work in real life.

If it doesn’t make my day easier, I’m not doing it.
