The White Paint You’ve Been Looking For

When it came time to update the paint in my home, I wanted a white that felt clean, timeless, and easy to use in multiple spaces. After testing a few options, I landed on Sherwin-Williams Pure White (SW 7005) — and ended up using it throughout my home. shop for everything here (affiliate link)

What started as a trim color quickly became the perfect neutral for several areas.

The Perfect Soft White

Sherwin-Williams Pure White is one of those shades that works almost anywhere. It’s not too stark like some bright whites, but it’s also not creamy or yellow. Instead, it sits right in the middle — a soft, clean white that works beautifully with both warm and cool tones.

That balance is exactly why I kept reaching for it throughout my home.

Baseboards and Fireplace

In my living space, I painted both the baseboards and the fireplace in Pure White. Using the same color on these details helps the room feel cohesive while giving everything a clean, crisp finish. The white also helps highlight the fireplace while keeping the overall look light and timeless.

Doors, Window Trim, and Trim

I also used Pure White on the doors, window trim, and other trim throughout the house. Keeping all of these architectural details the same color helps everything flow from room to room and creates a polished, consistent look.

Pantry

Even smaller spaces like the pantry benefit from this soft white. It reflects light well and keeps the space feeling fresh and simple.

Kitchen and Dining Room Walls

I carried Pure White onto the kitchen and dining room walls as well. Using the same shade helps the spaces flow together and keeps the overall look light and cohesive.

Why I Love Pure White for a Whole-Home Look

One of the biggest benefits of using the same white throughout your home is consistency. It creates a calm, cohesive feel as you move from room to room.

Pure White works especially well if you:

  • Want a bright but soft white
  • Prefer a neutral backdrop for decor
  • Like a clean, timeless look
